Higasa Properties at 4Buildings
4Buildings is a new event in construction industry in Poland – it was held on 15-17 November in Katowice. We had the pleasure to participate in the fairs and in the conference – both as speakers and members of the jury selecting winners in 2019 4Buildings Awards. The idea of the plebiscite is to promote modern construction, compliant with sustainable development principles and entire ecological construction and green technologies.
“Over 2 thousand professionals and 2.5 thousand fans of ecological construction, 5 thousand m2 of space, 70 expositions, debates, exhibitions, advice zones, workshops, consulting stands, presentations, green zones” – the numbers quoted by the organisers speak for themselves and are evidence of the success of the first edition. The meeting in Katowice was a meeting of leaders of innovative solutions and experts who presented most recent achievements in the construction sector and discussed how to develop their business and construct in a modern way, in compliance with the principles of sustainable development and, above all, with a focus on benefit for society.
Michał Ciapka, CEO of Higasa Properties, participated in the debate “Photovoltaics is the future” during which the speakers discussed ways to implement ecological solutions, for instance to the segment of commercial developments. “The application of appropriately efficient cells – as supported by the calculations we received – provides for savings in electricity costs of about 30% what with rental costs higher by 10% or even 15% including the installation costs, gives real savings, not to mention the obvious benefits for the environment”, said Michał Ciapka.
During the event, 4Buildings Awards were granted which was primarily aimed at promoting the best ecological practices, designs, solutions and attitudes. The awards were granted in three categories: “Design” (for buildings and spaces developed in compliance with the idea of sustainable development), “Innovations” (for pioneering solutions) and “People” (for projects promoting sustainable construction and affecting the development of the construction industry in Poland). Among the jurors identifying the most valuable initiatives was Magdalena Maciejak, representing EDS Retail Park, invited by the organisers. A detailed summary of the gala is available at the site of Property News.
